Two pieces of very good news

Two pieces of very good news

I’m not going to recriminate myself for not posting in awhile. I’ve done it before, it’ll happen again, and there are only so many times I can apologize and say I won’t do it again...
I’m back from Dragon*Con, and ready to forge ahead

I’m back from Dragon*Con, and read...

In my last post I was pretty down. I didn’t know what I wanted to do about my writing and podcasting, and everything generally just seemed to suck. Luckily, I’m back report that I’m in a...
So so tired…

So so tired…

I am so tired. I know it’s been a long time since I posted, and a lot of that is because – frankly – there just wasn’t much going on in my life worth letting people know of. I’m...
Comic-Con – Day Two

Comic-Con – Day Two

Yeah, I’m about done. That didn’t take long, did it? I guess as I get older I have less and less patience for what I consider to be bullshit. All the endless crowds and lines and asshole people...
Comic-Con – Day One

Comic-Con – Day One

Dear lord, my feet are sore, and I think I nearly drowned in geekness. Yesterday was a Preview Night, with most of the time taken up by just getting our four-day passes (why they don’t mail them is...
I can now call myself a published author

I can now call myself a published author

Yep, that’s right. I actually made a sale. One of my short stories was accepted by the online sci-fi magazine Ray Gun Revival (www.raygunrevival.com), and it will be published soon. The pay was small,...
Not a bad weekend

Not a bad weekend

My weekend started out pretty darn poor. On Wednesday (which is my “Friday,” so to speak) I had to stop and get some gas, and while I was filling up the tank I thought that it might be time to...
Life, or something like that…

Life, or something like that…

It seems like I’m always lamenting the fact that I don’t post here often enough. I think the reason I don’t come by more often is because I doubt that there is anyone out there who cares...

This place could use a good dusting̷...

I’ve been busy. Busy enough, at least, that sitting here and telling you about what was doing and needws to do seemed too time consuming. Why talk about it when I can actually just get on with getting...
It’s true what they say…

It’s true what they say…

… art is never finished, only abandoned. That becomes more real to me every time I read my work. No matter how many times I go over it and make changes, I learn something new or realize something,...

About Me

about us image I was born and raised an Army brat, spending many years living in different states, always on the move, always making new friends, always trying to fit in while finding my own path. I was raised on movies and video games across every imaginable genre and style, and the stories I write reflect that. I'm also a happily married fella and have been for over a decade. I and my wife Krista don't have any children, but the love we shower on our many dogs and cats fills our lives with joy. Along with writing, I'm also a podcaster. My show, the Dead Robots' Society, was created in 2007 to be a voice for aspiring writers trying to hone their craft and learn about publishing. It has twice been a finalist for a Parsec Award, and it's been host to many amazing conversations with people from all across the publishing industry. I'm also a co-host on The Hollywood Outsider, a weekly podcast about movies and television.
