Well, it seems like I’m not quite as done with “Harbinger” as I thought I was. As you might recall, I had a few people read my manuscript a couple of months ago so that they could provide me with feedback that I could us to edit my book, and using that feedback I went though the work and made a number of revisions and corrections. I figured that outside of a professional editor going through it with me, I was for the most part done with it.
Not so! A person that my wife works with (and whom I am also friends with, though to a lesser degree since I rarely get to see him) is now reading through my edited book, and as he’s going through it he is also editing it, and let me tell you, he leaves no word or phrase unturned. I’m glad he’s making his edits in blue ink, because if it were red I would have feared a murder had been committed upon the pages he’s handing back to me. And dammit, his edits are actually good ones. He is a very good editor, which makes sense since that is part of his day job. I’ve left some of his proposed changes alone, but for the most part I’m taking his advice, and that means I have a bit more work ahead of me.
On a brighter note, I have finished the preliminary outline on book two, “King’s Knight,” and I’ve put the first few pages together. So, there’s some forward progress for ya.
And as far as the great agent search goes, so far it’s amounted to a whole lotta nothin’. I did get a response back from one of the agents I’d queried, and they were interested initially, but after I sent them the first three chapters that interest waned. Other than that, though, all has been silent. I have five more letters to print and mail off tomorrow, and hopefully more to follow, so there is always hope.
Anyway, that’s it from me. Take care, and please listen to my podcast at www.deadrobotssociety.com. We have a forum there, and I urge all of you to visit it and participate.
